The Arthrex ACP double syringe, ACP Max, and the Angel system are all used to prepare regenerative treatments from the patient’s own blood, but they differ in their processing methods and the resulting concentrations of key biological factors.
The Arthrex ACP double syringe is used to prepare fluid PRF, while ACP Max and the Angel system are used to prepare highly concentrated PRP with the addition of ACD-A, an anticoagulant. Fluid PRF and PRP both support scar healing by delivering growth factors that stimulate tissue regeneration. Fluid PRF tends to be better suited for early-stage and superficial scars,4 while PRP is often preferred for deeper or more fibrotic scars.
Both Arthrex ACP and ACP Max are designed to be used with full swing-out rotor centrifuges, which offer more precise separation compared to fixed-angle centrifuges. The Angel system is a separate system that has a fully automated centrifuge integrated into the unit.
